GoOpen

A refreshing open source network meet-up last night.  Although we had an agenda, like often happens, we started talking about the first item ‘conference’ and didn’t really move on from there!  But the cookies and coffee were good.

However, it looks like there is a real interest to organise an ‘emergent’ kind of open source get together over 2-3 days sometime in the summer with a more formalised conference late this or early next year.  Andy had been to GoOpen in Norway earlier this month and thought we could use some of the ideas.

However, this being the UK and not Norway, we were not sure that mentioning the word open or open source would actually be such a good thing.  Personally I think GoOpen is just great, and I’m all for running a GoOpen in the UK.  Afterall GoOpen is exactly the message we want to promote.

This could work out to be a rather fun thing to do and based in North East England we might attract people from the near continent such as Scandinavia, Benelux and so forth.

More on this later.
